Glance - App Terms and Conditions

1. About These App Terms

   1.1. These App Terms apply to your use of the Glance application, a system companion app shown on your phone's secondary ('Glance') screen, pre-installed on your LoopPhone.

   1.2. You accept these App Terms by confirming your acceptance during your LoopPhone's setup journey; using the App, including after we notify you of updated App Terms, also confirms your acceptance and that you will comply with them, alongside the LoopPhone Terms of Use.

   1.3. If you do not accept these App Terms, you should not use the App.

   1.4. We may amend these App Terms from time to time; the updated version will be made available on the device and at docs.loopdl.info/loopphone/apps/glance/terms-and-conditions, and we will give you notice where required.

   1.5. Nothing in these App Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

2. Pre-installed App and Google Play

   2.1. Glance is pre-installed on the LoopPhone and is distributed and updated through the Google Play Store for LoopPhone devices. You cannot fully uninstall the version built into the device, but you can uninstall Play updates to revert to it.

   2.2. These App Terms are between you and LoopDesignLab PTE. LTD. only, and not with Google LLC; your use is also governed by Google Play's terms; LoopDesignLab, not Google, is responsible for the App; and Google has no obligation to support it or address claims relating to it. The App may be published and distributed on the Google Play Store by LoopDL Limited, a member of the LoopDesignLab group, on behalf of LoopDesignLab; these App Terms remain between you and LoopDesignLab PTE. LTD.

3. Licence to Use the App

   3.1. Subject to these App Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the App on your LoopPhone.

   3.2. You agree not to: resell or distribute the App; copy, modify or create derivative works; reverse engineer it except as the law permits; remove proprietary notices; or use it on a rooted device or tamper with security features (at your own risk).

   3.3. The App and all intellectual property rights in it remain the property of LoopDesignLab and its licensors.

4. Device and System Requirements

   4.1. The App runs on the LoopPhone (Android 16 or later). Some features require an internet connection.

5. App Features

   5.1. Glance shows information and features on your phone's secondary ('Glance') screen. Its features include:

   5.1.1. A contact card built from your LoopPhone account and profile. The card is stored on the device and is not stored on LoopDesignLab's servers. If you share your card, the details are encoded into a QR code or link at that moment. If your card is scanned by a device other than a LoopPhone, the details open as a web page and form part of the link itself, so they may be retained in the scanning device's browser history and in standard web-server logs.

   5.1.2. An optional voice feature, with its own setting and off until you turn it on. Audio is captured only while you actively use the feature, and is not stored anywhere:

   5.1.2.1. Glance It - a short audio clip is sent to LoopDesignLab's backend, which forwards it to a third-party music-recognition service for recognition;

   5.1.3. When you use a feature that needs it, a device identifier, a push token and your LoopDL account token are sent to LoopDesignLab's backend to register the device.

   5.1.4. Weather is read on the device from the phone's weather provider. Glance does not use your location and does not contact any weather service itself.

   5.1.5. A camera feature (on by default; you can turn it off in settings) that lets you take a selfie on the secondary ('Glance') screen. The camera is accessed only while you actively use the feature.

   5.2. Glance contains no advertising. It may collect usage analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it, as set out in the Glance Privacy Policy. It collects crash diagnostics via Google Firebase to keep the app stable. It requests no location, contacts or SMS access; the camera and microphone are used only for the opt-in features above. Cloud backup is off.

   5.3. The secondary ('Glance') screen is on the outside of your LoopPhone and can be seen by people near you. Information shown on it may therefore be visible to others – this can include your contact card's QR code when you choose to share it and, where those features are present, notifications or message previews and media ('now playing') information. Please use your discretion before displaying sensitive information on this screen.

   5.4. The App uses Android's notification access; its use of that permission and its handling of the related information are described in the Glance Privacy Policy.

6. App Updates

   6.1. We may provide updates via Google Play, which may add, change or remove features and may be required for security or continued operation. We may discontinue support for older versions of the App or of Android.

   6.2. Connected features depend on our online services. Not all features or online services are available on every LoopPhone model, Android version or App version, and new or enhanced features and services may be made available only on selected models or versions. We may change our online services, and may withdraw them for versions of the App, or devices, that we no longer support. The App may require an update before connected features can be used. Where practicable, we will give reasonable notice in the App before withdrawing a service you are using. Nothing in this Section affects your statutory rights.

7. Use of the App

   7.1. You must not use the App unlawfully or for fraud, interfere with or disrupt it, attempt unauthorised access, or use automated systems to access it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these App Terms or the LoopPhone Terms of Use.

8. Accounts

   8.1. Glance does not have its own account or sign-in; it uses your LoopDL account. To delete the data associated with your account, delete your LoopDL account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

9. Data and Privacy

   9.1. The App collects and uses data as set out in the Glance Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

    10.1. Your licence ends if the device is decommissioned or if you materially breach these App Terms. Account data is retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

11. Our Responsibility (Limitation of Liability)

    11.1. Nothing in these App Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your non-excludable consumer rights). Subject to that, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.

12. Your Consumer Rights

    12.1. Nothing in these App Terms reduces your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, which prevail over any conflict.

13. Governing Law and Contact
